While the fake news media fawns all over Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and gives her a pass when it comes to her immature and ill-informed rhetoric, the rest of us wonder how America ever elected such a communistic, neurotic dimwit to Congress.
Who Voted for Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez?
Her stunning win should really come as no surprise. The 14th congressional district encompasses portions of the Bronx and Queens--the underbellies of New York. AOC appealed to the 49.80% of the Hispanic population in her district, promising $15 minimum wage, medicare for all, tuition free college and trade school, housing as a human right, protection for Dreamers, a simple path to citizenship, and the abolishment of ICE. In other words, reward illegal immigrants with free stuff at the expense of law abiding tax payers and encourage parasites to cling to entitlements instead of forging their own way through life. This is why the new radical Socialist Party, masquerading as Democrats, are so opposed to a wall on our southern border. The more caravans they usher in, the more representation they will receive in Congress because these deadbeats aren't storming our borders to achieve the American Dream on their own. They are landing like locusts on our soil to devour all we have instead of respecting our laws and entering legally through a merit-based system.
Is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez the New Radical Socialist Face of the Democratic Party?
Doesn't AOC pose a threat to Queen Nancy Pelosi and King Chuck Schumer? Why are they so willing to share the spotlight with this rookie when the nonsense spilling from her lips isn't anchored in logic, facts, science, or the will of the majority? Won't she tarnish their already rusty, molded image?
The answer is the Democratic Party has taken a hard left turn. Moderates have been run out of town, and the Democrats are tripping over each other, vying to be the most edgy socialist media sensation. In this day and age where you can identify as a unicorn, goat, manatee, or manufacture a new gender or previously unheard of pronoun, the Democratic Party now identifies with extreme radical socialists and should change their name accordingly. The reason Chuck and Nancy allow AOC to run rabidly through the congressional circuit unfettered is because they are seeing how far she can take the ball down the field.
Have you ever heard of David McReynolds, Darlington Hoopes, Norman Thomas, or Allan Benson? Probably not. They are all socialists who have run as third party presidential candidates but never ascended from obscurity. Back when they ran for office, Americans were achieving the American Dream through education and hard work combined with the grit and determination to forge prosperous lives for their families.
I'll bet you HAVE heard of Bernie Sanders, right? Despite his spluttering dialogue and economically unfeasible dreams, Sanders has still managed to take the ball further up the court. When political pundits referred to Sanders in the past, it was with an exaggerated eye roll and a smirk. No one took him seriously. His ideology was a joke. America could never be a socialist nation! Socialism is an antithesis of democracy, small government, capitalism, and freedom to make our own choices. Ironically, Sanders has preached wealth redistribution for years, just as he purchases his third home in Vermont--a lakeside retreat for the tune of $600,000. Conservative writer and speaker Matt Walsh says, "It's time to stop treating this guy like your lovable, eccentric grandfather and get real about him." Why do 25% of Americans now favor socialism? For one thing, it's indicative of a failed educational system. Public schools and academia are not tracing socialism's track record. Socialism always results in tyrannical rule. In a nutshell, the elite prosper and retain control, but the results for everyone else is disastrous. Socialism always rears its head under the guise of wealth redistribution, government control from cradle to the grave, and false promises of social justice and equality. Agriculture is taken over by the government, and while the ruling class dines on caviar and champagne, ordinary folk starve. Since the government controls healthcare, they decide what treatment you qualify to receive. For example, if you are over age 60, you won't qualify for dialysis. Grocery store shelves are empty. Guns are confiscated to curb an uprising, and dissenters are eliminated.
If something sounds too good to be true, it always is. The utopia the American socialists present sounds enticing, but promising something they can't deliver is straight from the communist play book. There is always a scapegoat with socialism. In America, it's the rich. It's the rich's fault the poor aren't better off. The government wants to punish the rich for their "entitled" lifestyles, even though they worked hard to achieve them, and they strive to level the playing field by pretending to be Robin Hood.
AOC is no different. She offers no original ideas, only old, stale versions of the same socialist agenda that fails every time. Her Green New Deal could have been written by Hitler or Stalin. In essence, it's a governmental takeover of America cloaked in environmental activism. Still, the Establishment will bide their time to see if AOC will help or hurt their cause.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Gets Free Pass from the Media
While conservatives are held accountable for every word they utter, which is then twisted into a lie by the fake news, AOC is a media darling who escapes all criticism, even when her dialogue has more holes in it than my grandma's underwear. If her activist platform were a movie, there would be more plot holes in it than the latest Star Wars release.
For example, AOC claims the southern border wall is just like the Berlin Wall. For starters, our border is to keep illegal immigrants from thwarting our national sovereignty in addition to hindering the flow of drugs, human traffickers, and terrorists from crossing to our soil. The Berlin Wall was designed primarily to keep the East Germans IN and prevent the socialist state from being undermined by the West's "fascists." Crickets from the mainstream media.
How's this for an embarrassing gaffe--AOC compared the caravans storming our southern border to the Jews fleeing Nazi Germany. Yes, those are exactly the same. Fox News contributor and former deputy assistant to President Trump, Dr. Sebastian Gorka, slammed her with this sentiment: "You truly are an insult to intelligent and empathetic humans everywhere."
AOC just created a congressional e-mail account for her boyfriend, Riley Roberts, so he could access her calendar. This is highly improper, which should be obvious, but like a petulant teen, she threw a tantrum in her own defense. Former chairman of the House Oversight committee, Jason Chaffetz, responsed, "It's totally naive and inappropriate--you wouldn't allow it in most companies, let alone the House of Representatives. There should be real consequences." But, when you're from the same party that covered for Hillary Clinton when she bleached her hard drive, hammered her cell phone, deleted 33,000 e-mails, and created a national security breach by hiding a personal server without repercussion, AOC's poor judgement doesn't seem so bad.
AOC REALLY hates billionaires and accuses all of them of "corporate greed," or what the rest of us call "success." For this reason, she created a hostile New York environment for Amazon, causing them to bow out of establishing headquarters there. Her constituents are shocked at the loss of economic opportunity. In fact, 70% of New Yorkers were in favor of the Amazon deal. This is not democracy but socialism--the Establishment making the decisions instead of the American people. Job Creators Network responded to AOC by placing this billboard in Times Square:
Once again, abandoning her college training in economics, AOC fired back that the $3 billion in tax breaks offered to Amazon could be spent hiring teachers and fixing the subway system. Her ignorance on this issue is cringe-worthy--the $3 billion constitutes tax breaks, not actual revenue that can be redirected.
If such erroneous discourse proceeded from conservatives, the mainstream media's fact checkers would loudly decry the claims, labeling the right-wings as mentally unstable and incoherent while viciously making them laughing stocks to be derided around the clock. AOC gets a free pass though because, in all her half-baked glory, she advances their agenda.
Let's not forget AOC also claims the world is going to end in 12 years if we don't implement her Green New Deal in ten. Socialists always create a sense of urgency in order to control and manipulate the masses.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is Already an Elitist
An elitist is someone who considers their ideology, intellect, power, wealth, talent, or position superior to everyone else's. AOC has been in office less than two months and has already become part of the elitist crowd she pretends to rail against, just like Sanders. Overruling 70% of the New York voices concerning the Amazon deal proves it. She is imposing her ideology on the American people, and that ideology does not align itself with the Constitution, American values, or the will of the people.
AOC seems to forget she went from being an absolute nobody to being the youngest woman ever elected to Congress overnight. This is the American Dream, but she wants it only for herself and not for anyone else. This is elitist. Just as quickly, she has joined the ranks of predatory swamp creatures as well.
AOC is like a high school prom queen. She's the belle of the ball right now and loving the attention. The spotlight is on her. Seeing her name and face on social media, the fake news networks, and in publications is making her giddy with power and influence. Most things that start with a bang nearly always end with a fizzle, and AOC will be no different.
The Silver Lining
The radical Left is emboldened, and the Establishment is seeing how far AOC will advance their quest for power and control. As long as AOC is useful, she will continue full tilt. When the Left realizes she's a detriment, they will turn on her. What Democrats will be shocked to learn is the public will not ultimately support their anti-American agenda. We like being free. We like owning guns. We make better decisions for our families than the government ever could. We like the pride and independence of choosing our own paths in life. While it's safe to say the 25% of the populace favoring socialism are stupid, the rest of us are not. We will vote accordingly. As long as the Left continues to compete to see who among them can be the most communist, the most socialist, and the most radical, conservatives will continue to win elections for years to come.
